OR Tambo police arrest two suspects in separate incidents

EASTERN CAPE – wo suspects were arrested in separate incidents in Tsolo and Lusikisiki for been in possession of an illegal firearm and a stolen vehicle.

It is alleged that on Tuesday, 16 April 2024, SAPS Tsolo followed up on information of an unlicensed firearm at Qebeyi A/A . On searching the identified premises, a 9mm Norinco star pistol with twenty-nine (29) rounds of ammunition were recovered. The 32-year-old suspect was arrested and charged for illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Also, in Lusikisiki, the OR Tambo District Task Team members were conducting operational duties on Friday, 19 April 2024, on R61 National Road when they spotted a suspicious red/maroon Datsun Go. On checking the registration number, it was discovered that the vehicle was sought by SAPS Umlazi.

A 53-year-old suspect was arrested and charged for possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle.

The suspect will appear before court in Lusikisiki on Monday, 22 April 2024.
