Media Statement FREE STATE – Operation Vala uMgodi team conducted Second-hand Goods Compliance inspections in Odendaalsrus, Bothaville, Kroonstad and Ventersburg respectively. The police seized different counterfeit cigarette brands such as Boss, Cape Navy Cut, Chief Blue, Remington Gold, Shasha, Manchester Strawberry and Ceasar Menthol. The members also confiscated medicinal products such as Betasol cream, Lemovate, Boi Clair, Epiderm, Diproson, Super Apeti, Apetito tablets, Esapharma Movate, Nuorelle pulline and Perfect White. The total sale value of contraband goods seized was calculated to be R113 080.00. Case dockets of Possession of illicit cigarettes and Contravention of Medicines and Controlled Substances Act/ Contravention of Medicine Act 101 of 1065 were opened and the six (6) foreign nationals originating from Bangladesh, Ethiopia and Somalia, aged between 26 and 41 were immediately placed under arrest. The arrested dealers will appear before Court soon. Ends
