Media Statement BLOEMFONTEIN – Operation Vala Umgodi operators carried out an intelligence driven operation in Thabong ‘2010’ Location. The team arrived at the identified target house and conducted a search. Chemicals used in the processing of gold bearing material into amalgam; Borax salt,41 crucible pots and eight bowls and a blow torch were found inside a makeshift workshop at the back of the house. A male, aged 36, was arrested and a case of possession of gold processing equipment with an additional charge of contravention of the Immigration Act was opened at Thabong Police Station. The suspect will appear in Court soon. Ends
