Media Statement WESTERN CAPE – The strategic deployment of members attached to Operation Restore to combat crime in communities plagued by gangsterism, paid off when members arrested two suspects who were found in possession of a firearm, ammunition and a bullet resistance vest in Delft on Friday evening. At about 22:15 on Friday evening, 17 January 2025, the members followed up on information about a firearm being stored at a premises situated in Wolf Street, Delft-South. The members operationalised the information, approached the address and ensued with a thorough search of the premises upon which they discovered a revolver with three rounds of ammunition, an empty cartridge and a black bullet resistant vest.
As a result off the discovery the members arrested two men aged 26 and 32 who were found on the premises. They face charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition as well as the possession of presumably stolen property. They are scheduled to appear in the local Magistrates’ court on the mentioned charges on Monday, 20 January 2025.
