KIMBERLEY – The relentless efforts and vigilance of the Olifantshoek SAPS Visible Policing Commander, Warrant Officer Frank Witbooi resulted in the arrest of a 32-year-old male suspect for possession of drugs and driving under the influence of alcohol on Monday, 12 August 2024 at approximately 13:00 in Olifantshoek. Whilst the member was conducting Operation Vhuthu Hawe disruptive actions, he noticed a vehicle that was driving recklessly. The vehicle was subsequently stopped, and searched and dagga with an estimated street value of R7000.00, was found in the boot of the vehicle and confiscated. The driver was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol. The John Taolo Gaetsewe District Commissioner, Major General Johnny Besnaar, commended Warrant Officer Witbooi and his members for the arrest and removal of drugs from our streets and stated that we will increase our efforts to remove drugs from the streets and make it impossible for drug dealers to operate in our communities Actions under the auspices of Operation Vhuthu Hawe will continue throughout the district to address priority crimes.
