KIMBERLEY – The Northern Cape Excellence Awards were hosted by the Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Koliswa Otola, during an elegant event on Friday, 06 December 2024, at the Boontjieskraal Conference Centre in Kimberley.
The functionary, the MEC for COGHSTA and Transport, Safety and Liaison, Mr Bentley Vass was joined by Divisional, Provincial and District SAPS Management.
Officers and members from the Northern Cape Province were acknowledged and awarded for service excellence in 34 various categories.
A warm welcoming address was delivered by the Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Corporate Services, Major General Thabo Mphuthi.
Labour Unions, POPCRU, and SAPU offered messages of support and gratitude for the unwavering commitment displayed by the recipients
In her message, Lieutenant General Otola stated that the SAPS is an organisation which places great value in all its employees and recognizes the sacrifices and invaluable contributions that each employee puts into the effectiveness and efficiency of the organisation.
“Your exceptional dedication, hard work and commitment to excellence have earned you this prestigious recognition,” Lieutenant General Otola said.
These Prestige Awards will promote and foster a culture of excellence within SAPS, encouraging members to emulate the examples set by award winners.
This platform showcases the achievements by members both in support and operational environments, demonstrating their individual and team efforts in serving the organisation and our communities.
In his keynote address MEC Vass congratulated all recipients and affirmed that the hard work and dedication by members made this event possible.
During the release of the second quarter crime statistics on Friday, 06 December 2024, the majority of serious crimes displayed a decrease. It is against this backdrop that the successes of SAPS are evident.
He encouraged members to inspire confidence, act with integrity and respect and strive towards the approval of the public.
