Trio nabbed in Norkem Park drug and battery bust
Three suspects were arrested on Du Plessis Avenue in Norkem Park after Ekurhuleni Metro Police uncovered a stash of powerful prescription drugs and high-value solar batteries.
Acting on a tip-off, officers descended on a house where they discovered narcotics and cash. Shortly after, a silver Mazda BT-50 and a white Toyota Hilux arrived on the scene both loaded with lithium batteries. The occupants were caught red-handed.
Among the seized drugs were Ketamine, Pethidine, and Morphine potent narcotic painkillers classified as Schedule 5 medications, which are strictly regulated and require a doctor’s prescription.
Authorities believe the suspects are linked to a syndicate involved in the illegal distribution of stolen medication and solar batteries across the region.
The operation was carried out by the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Northern Region Task Team, in collaboration with several private security firms.
