The Nigerian Union in South Africa is strongly denouncing the recent killing of 22-year-old Isaac David Satlat, a young e-hailing driver, just days after another Nigerian, Emeka Uzor, was murdered in Johannesburg.
The union’s president described this as a heartbreaking and pointless act that ended a promising life way too soon.
They mentioned that one of the three people suspected in the crime has already been caught by the police, and the case is heading to court today.
The group trusts that the South African police, courts, and prosecutors will make sure justice is done properly.
They’re pushing for more action to catch the other suspects and hold everyone responsible under the law.
Sending heartfelt sympathies to the family and friends of the victim, they stressed that no one should have to go through such a painful loss.
The union is encouraging everyone in the community—locals and immigrants alike—to come together and fight against violence and crime.
They’re dedicated to teaming up with officials to make things safer and more peaceful for all people living there, no matter where they’re from.
This comes right after the February 9 incident where Emeka Uzor was shot while in his car during what was called an anti-drug operation in Johannesburg’s Windsor area.
