Nigerian Maybach driver flees scene after crashing into DJ Kyeezi in Cape Town

On May 16, 2025, Khanya ‘Kyeezi’ Siyengo, a popular Good Hope FM radio presenter and former Metro FM DJ, survived a serious hit-and-run accident in Cape Town.

The crash occurred when Michael Jaimu, a Nigerian national allegedly under the influence of alcohol, ran a red light and collided with Siyengo’s BMW 420i while driving a Mercedes Maybach. Jamiu fled the scene, abandoning his damaged vehicle and personal items, including his bag and passport, which may aid authorities in tracking him down.

Despite significant damage to Siyengo’s car, he sustained no serious physical injuries but has been emotionally shaken.

He issued an apology for missed bookings and requested privacy to focus on his mental and emotional recovery.

Authorities are pursuing Jamiu, with potential charges for drunk driving and hit-and-run.
