Media Statement DURBAN – The Provincial Commissioner of KwaZulu-Natal Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi has received 36 new vehicles from the Premier of KwaZulu-Natal Mr Thami Ntuli during an official handing over ceremony which was held at the Archie Gumede Conference Centre in Mayville on Tuesday, 17 December 2024. Before handing over the vehicles to the Provincial Commissioner, Premier Ntuli highlighted the need to have added resources on the ground as he released the provincial crime statistics for the second quarter. The vehicles come at a time when safer festive season operations are underway and Lieutenant General Mkhwanazi said that although there can never be enough vehicles, the new vehicles will come in handy to assist in the fight against crime. “These new vehicles will assist our officers to be able to reach more people faster. We will ensure that vehicles are used for official duties only and act against those who abuse them for personal gains. We are warning criminals that they must leave our citizens alone. Police will be out in numbers to ensure that those who want to celebrate, do so in a safe and secure environment. Ends
