Media Statement PARKTOWN – The collaborative efforts of the police and private security companies under the Eyes and Ears (E2) project through business against crime continue to produce positive results in the fight against crime as the team arrests four suspects for an armed robbery. On 17 March 2025, two people riding an e-hailing vehicle were on their way to a hotel in Sandton when an Audi vehicle cut in from of them and robbed them at gunpoint. Their valuables, including branded watches to the value of approximately R200 000.00 were also robbed. Later on the same day the members from Sandton together with the security company followed up on information which led them to four suspects who were found in possession of two firearms with filled of serial numbers, the two branded watches and two vehicles (Audi and Toyota) both fitted with false registration numbers. All four suspects were arrested and are expected to appear before court soon. Police investigations continue. Ends
