News: Anti-Economic Crimes Task Team detains four suspects for possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition as well as drugs with an estimated street value of R1.5 million

WESTERN CAPE – Police members attached to the Anti Economic Crimes Task Team executed a search warrant on Saturday 28 December 2024 during which they detained four suspects.

The members operationalised the information at their disposal and tactically approached the residence in Beacon Valley. Upon entering the house at around 14:00, they took control and searched the entire premises. Their persistence were rewarded when they discovered a firearm and ammunition as well as a consignment of drugs with an estimated street value of R1.5 Million.  They detained four suspects between the ages of 32 and 62 for the possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition as well as dealing in drugs.

Once charged the suspects will make their court appearance in the Mitchells Plain Magistrates’ court on the mentioned charges.
