SAPS Deputy National Commissioner Tebello Mosikili has testified before Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee that the controversial letter meant for the disbandment of the KwaZulu-Natal(KZN) Political Killings Task Team (PKTT) was sent by Minister of Police Senzo Mchunu.
Mosikili testified that December 31, 2024 disbandment letter which was meant for he internal circulation was already leaked to the media before she even knew that she was also recipient of it.
Mosikili told the Ad Hoc Committee that she was susprised to learn that there was a private email that was copied.
Mosikili said that besides her and other senior officials, there was enior officials, there was a mysterious unknown Gmail account that was copied and that her team is investigating the alleged account.
“I still do not know who the email belonged to. My team is investigating how the leak occurred and who might have shared it externally. The letter’s tone and the media expose required urgent consultation with the National Commissioner, Fanie Masemola even though he was on leave,” she said.
Earlier on, Lieutenant General Hilda Senthumule did not show up to Committee after she that her appearance im Parliament be postponed to Friday since her child is not well.
