POLOKWANE – The Police in Lulekani are investigating an inquest case, after the body of a 36-year-old man, previously reported missing, was found f It is reported that members of the community noticed some clothes floating in the local river and notified the police. They swiftly responded to the complaint. Police together with community members managed to reach the said clothes, and found human body parts, which was then retrieved. They found an identification book (ID), which matched the names of a male person who was reported missing in the area. His identity is still withheld pending further Police investigations. Meanwhile, in Dwaalboom at a farm in Waterberg District police received an alert, following a drowning incident whereby the body of a toddler was recovered from the water. This follows an incident that occurred on Wednesday, 19 February 2025, at around 12:00. According to information, a couple together with their child, were in their tin house when heavy rains got into their house, resulting in them being trapped. The floods became too much and the couple managed to climb on top of the house and unfortunately the child was swept away by the rain. The farming community activated a chopper to assist the victims and later that day the body of a six-year-old boy was retrieved. The couple was rushed to the hospital for medical attention. The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has once again advised community members to be extra cautious around heavy waters or rivers as we are in a rainy season.
