Media Statement POLOKWANE – Vala Umgodi Task Team in Vhembe District has stepped up efforts to combat illegal mining at the Madonsi mining site Malamulele policing area, an area with increasing concerns regarding unlawful mining activities. The operation was backed by Warrant Officer Anthony Singani, the Pillar Two Proactive Commander, and Sergeant Maphure Manamela, the Pillar Five Communication Officer. During the operation, several active illegal mines were identified, and efforts will continue to target and eliminate illegal mining in collaboration with key stakeholders, including the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy.
