Media Statement POLOKWANE – An inquiry docket has been opened by the Tzaneen police under Mopani District to establish the cause of fire that resulted in the burning of a local school on Saturday 20 July 2024 at about 04:00. According to reports security official staying next to a local High School saw fire next to an Administration block. He went to check and found a big TLB tyre burned and water tank damaged. Upon further observation, he noticed that there was no fire but a smoke and he went back home. The security guard reported on duty at about 18:00 and found everything in good order. On Saturday 20 July 2024 at about 04:00, while busy conducting patrol duties, he suddenly noticed a bunch of firewood next to the Administration Block that caught fire. The Emergency Fire Brigade were summoned to the scene and managed to extinguish the fire, but the whole building with roofing was burned to ashes and fell inside.
