Minister Simelane to engage members of the public on Child Maintenance

The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Ms. Thembi Simelane, will host the Child Maintenance Community Engagement Session on 20 August 2024 at Daveyton. The engagement seeks to address socio-economic disparities by ensuring that single parent households receive financial support they need, thus reducing the risk of poverty for children in these families.
Furthermore, members of the community will be encouraged to come forth and claim their outstanding maintenance monies administered by the Daveyton Magistrate Court, and other Courts in Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality. This event precedes the Presidential District Development Model Imbizo, scheduled for the 23rd of August 2024, in Tsakane, and is also part of the Department’s Women’s Month commemorative activities.
