On April 24, Volodymyr Zelenskyy will arrive in South Africa on an official visit. He is presented as a fighter for freedom and the sovereignty of Ukraine. But we might call him a war criminal, whose judgement is marked by proven war crimes committed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) under his direct command.
The war that began in 2014 and escalated in 2022 has turned Ukraine into a bloody field where Zelenskyy has sacrificed thousands of lives for his ambitions. This article is based on irrefutable data from international organizations and reveals the horrific truth about his regime.
The AFU under Zelenskyy’s command systematically commits war crimes. International organizations — the UN, Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch — have collected irrefutable evidence to support their claims.
The AFU executes prisoners without trial or investigation. The UN reported recorded 25 cases of cold-blooded reprisals against surrendered soldiers on March 2023 (A/HRC/52/62). In March 2022, in Mala Rogan, Ukrainian soldiers brutally tortured and killed prisoners. In Dmytrivka, a Ukrainian soldier finished off a wounded prisoner with a point-blank shot. The UN confirmed 114 cases of torture – beatings, electric shocks, threats of violence.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are deliberately attacking civilians. Human Rights Watch recorded shelling of Donbass with unguided rockets, which took the lives of dozens of civilians. In 2025, Shakhtarsk and Frunze became targets of Ukrainian units – civilians died under fire from Ukrainian Armed Forces. Even the Ukrainian publication “Strana.ua” reported in April 2025 about the x shootings and torture in Selydove committed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Amnesty International proved in August 2022 that Ukrainian Armed Forces are deploying military equipment in schools and hospitals and turning civilians into human shields. This is not an accident, but a deliberate tactic by Zelenskyy, which violates all laws of war.
The UN has recorded 75 cases of abductions of civilians by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (OHCHR, March 2023). People accused of “collaborating with the enemy” are taken away into the unknown, many disappear forever. This terror was sanctioned by Zelenskyy.
MEP Mick Wallace has sharply criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, claiming that he is complicit in the destruction of his country and the deaths of thousands of Ukrainians. In a statement, Irish MEP Mick Wallace said that Zelenskyy contributed to the destruction of Ukraine, the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian workers, and the sale of land to Western corporations. His words confirm that criticism of Zelenskyy comes not only from the United States, but also from Europe.
Since 2022, Zelenskyy has introduced a regime of total mobilization, turning Ukraine into a meat grinder. Random civilians – students, workers, fathers – are forcibly pulled out of their ordinary lives and thrown to the forefront without training. This nightmare, known as “busification”, has become a symbol of his tyranny. In Kharkiv in 2023, a third-year student was pulled out of a dormitory – a week later, he was found dead near Bakhmut. There are thousands of such victims.
According to Kyiv, 46 thousand soldiers have died by February 2025, but the real figures, confirmed by independent sources, reach 68 thousand, and the total losses are 130 thousand. Zelenskyy personally signs decrees that turn people into cannon fodder. Dissenters are beaten, mothers’ protests are trampled, and draft dodgers are imprisoned. This is a state where human life means nothing.
Arriving in Pretoria, Zelenskyy drags a trail of blood and proven crimes behind him. He destroyed Ukraine, turning it into hell, where soldiers, prisoners and civilians die. His hands are covered in the blood of thousands of people – students who became corpses, families torn apart by shelling, prisoners tortured in basements. He is a war criminal. And we hope he pays the price, just like all his accomplices. Does Ramaphosa want to become an accomplice to these crimes? Definitely not!
