Mfundo Vilakazi unfazed by Richards Bay threat
Kaizer Chiefs attacker Mfundo Vilakazi is not worried about the threat posed by Richards Bay ahead of tonight’s Betway Premiership clash.
Amakhosi travel to KwaZulu-Natal to face the Natal Rich Boyz at Princess Magogo Stadium, in KwaMashu, outside Durban. The match is set for a 7.30pm.
Chiefs are looking to move level on points with league leaders Orlando Pirates, who beat Sekhukhune United 2-0 on Tuesday to open a three points lead.
Richards Bay defeated Chiefs 1-0 when the teams met in KZN last season. However, Vilakazi says Chiefs have prepared well for the challenge.
“Richards Bay are a very good team and especially dangerous at home,” Vilakazi told the club’s website.
The attacker says the Chiefs technical team has studied their opponents carefully.
“But we are going there with confidence,” added the 20-year-old. “Our technical team has done its analysis and we have a game plan that we believe will lead us to victory.”
Vilakazi also believes Chiefs are in a good space heading into the encounter.
“We are all in a good space and ready for the challenge. We want to build and maintain forward momentum, and that’s how we approach every game.”
He also knows the responsibility that comes with playing for Amakhosi.
“We know the expectations of our amazing fans and we never want to disappoint our fans,” concludes Vilakazi.
