Media Invite PRETORIA – The National Commissioner of the SAPS, General Fannie Masemola will deliver the keynote address at the official opening of the development of South Africa’s national strategy to prevent and combat transnational organised crime. The five-day strategy session meeting will bring together role-players in the SADC region including detectives, crime intelligence officers, Interpol officers and border policing experts. The session will tackle and develop a strategy to prevent and combat transitional organised crime challenges facing SA including porous borders, drug trafficking, influx of illegal immigrants, as well as the proliferation of firearms. The National Head of the DPCI, Lieutenant General (Dr/Adv) Godfrey Lebeya, representatives of SADC led by Ms T Gumede and INTERPOL representatives led by Mr Sello Moerane will be present.
