EASTERN CAPE – The Minister of Police, Mr Senzo Mchunu, the Deputy Ministers of Police, Mr Cassel Mathale and Ms Polly Boshielo, as well as the National Commissioner, General Fannie Masemola will visit the families of the 18 victims who tragically lost their lives in a mass shooting in Ngobozana village, Lusikisiki. The visit will take place following the shocking incident in which two homesteads in the same street were targeted in the early hours of Saturday, leaving 17 people dead. An 18th victim, who was in a critical condition, has since passed away in hospital. The victims were preparing for a traditional ritual to mark the end of mourning for a mother and daughter who were murdered a year ago. The Ministry of Police will offer condolences to the bereaved families and provide support to the affected communities. Following the visit, the Ministry and the National Commissioner will address the community to discuss this devastating incident and provide information on the measures being taken to ensure the safety of the area and bring the perpetrators to justice.
