Media invitation: Funerals of fallen heroes who died in the line of duty

FREE STATE – The Provincial Commissioner of the Police in the Free State, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane, hereby invite the members of the media to the sending off of two police officers who tragically lost their lives in the line of duty on Saturday 4 January 2025. The two members were killed after responding to a house robbery complaint.

The Honourable Minister of Police, Senzo Mchunu and the Acting National Commissioner of SAPS, Lieutenant General Tebello Mosikili will attend the funeral of Constable Gedione Motloung.

The Deputy Minister of Police, Cassel Mathale and the Acting National Commissioner of SAPS, Lieutenant General Tebello Mosikili will attend the funeral of Constable Sipho Mohapi.

Both funerals will provide an opportunity for the community, colleagues, and officials to honour the bravery and dedication of Constable Motloung and Constable Mohapi, who served with distinction and paid the ultimate price in the line of duty.
