Media Invite NELSPRUIT – There has been some challenges of criminality perpetuated by criminals who targeted road users, tourists, commuters, hitchhikers and motorists. A common trend which was often seen used by suspects it is the so-called “Blue lights” robberies whereby many became victims. When analyzing the crime trends as well as developing effective methods on how to deal with crime on the roads, the SAPS management in Mpumalanga, under the leadership of the Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS, Major General (Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi deemed it necessary to launch the Highway Patrol Unit to address the crime challenges on the roads. Members of the media are hereby invited to join the SAPS in the province as they implement yet another effective response that will assist in curbing crime in the community. The event will be graced by the MEC for Community Safety, Security and Liaison: Honourable Jackie Macie.
