Media Statement BCM DISTRICT – A targeted crime intelligence-driven operation by Mdantsane Crime Prevention members has resulted in the arrest of seven suspects for various offenses, including drug possession, illegal firearms, and drunk driving. Police acted on credible intelligence on Sunday, 09 February 2025, leading to a high-impact operation across multiple units in Mdantsane. The operation involved vehicle checkpoints, searches of suspicious individuals, and the execution of search warrants. As a result, three male suspects were arrested for possession of drugs, two suspects for drunken driving, and other two suspects for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition. The suspects, aged between 30 and 57, were taken into custody, and two vehicles linked to criminal activities were seized for further investigation. The arrested suspects appeared before the Mdantsane Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 11 February 2025. Ends
