PARKWEG – The police have initiated a manhunt following a violent incident that occurred in Bloemfontein, where two victims were attacked and one sustained a gunshot wound. The suspects involved in this incident fled the scene in a hijacked vehicle. On Wednesday 30 October 2024 at about 19:30, the 44-year-old victim entered the parking at the block of flats in Fairview. While busy parking his vehicle, one unknown and armed male broke the victim’s vehicle window, pointing him with a firearm and instructing him to exit the vehicle. The suspect forcefully pulled the victim out of his vehicle and attempted to drive away in the victim’s white Toyota Rumion. While the other one was busy reversing in the victim’s vehicle, one other suspect attacked a male who was sitting in his Toyota Fortuner vehicle nearby. The 40-year-old driver was shot and wounded in his leg and was robbed of his vehicle keys. Suspects fled the scene in a white Toyota Rumion with registration number HZN 478 FS. The 45-year-old victim was rushed to the hospital and is in a stable condition. Parkweg police have opened cases of hijacking, attempted murder and armed robbery for further investigation.
