Media Statement POLOKWANE – A manhunt of two unknown male suspects has been activated by the South African Police Service in Malamulele following a robbery with a firearm incident that took place on Tuesday, 07 May 2024 at about 12:00. It is reported that a 52 year-old male victim accepted a lift from two unknown males driving a white Polo motor vehicle from Giyani intending to travel to Malamulele policing area. While on the way between Mphambo and Xitlhelani village, the suspects produced a firearm and knife before driving into the bushes. On arrival, the duo started demanding money and ordered the victim to contact his wife, manager and colleagues to deposit the money. The wife of the victim complied and managed to deposit an undisclosed amount of cash. The two suspects suddenly robbed the victim of his cellphone, a Dell laptop and dustcoat valued at R29, 000 and a 52-year-old male victim was subsequently driven to Malamulele policing area and dropped off next to a graveyard. The victim managed to walk to the local police station and a case of robbery with a firearm was immediately opened for investigation. Police have since launched a manhunt of the two unknown male suspects.
