44-year-old Raymond Mnisi from Pretoria East briefly appeared before the Pretoria North Magistrate’s Court on a charge of murder following the death of 44-year-old Tshepo Edward Kabini.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Lumka Mhanjana said it is alleged that on 08 May 2026, during the day, Mnisi went to the deceased’s workplace at Toncrete Company in Akasia and requested to see him.”The two proceeded to the deceased’s office. A few minutes later, an argument allegedly broke out between them.
During the altercation, Mnisi allegedly left the office, went to his vehicle, and fetched a stick and a five-litre container of petrol. He then allegedly returned to the office, locked the door, poured petrol over the deceased, and set him alight. Thereafter, the accused allegedly unlocked the office and fled the scene. The deceased’s brother, who was also on the premises, opened the office and rushed the deceased to Dr George Mukhari Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.”
“The matter was reported to the police by the deceased’s sister on the same day. Following investigations, Mnisi was arrested on 14 May 2026 at his place of residence,” she said. She said the case was postponed to 22 May 2026 for a formal bail application.”
