NELSPRUIT – The Police in Vosman urge ardent and faithful community members to come forth with valuable information that may shed light in solving a senseless murder case. The plea emanates from an incident at which a body of an unknown person was discovered on Wednesday, 20 March 2024, with multiple bruises next to a railway line in Vosman near Witbank. This gruesome discovery that sends shiver down the spine, was uncovered by security officers who were on duty conducting patrols along the railway line near Overline within the Vosman policing precinct. They then alerted police who immediately went to investigate and on their arrival, they were greeted by this shocking and strange scene. When they conducted a preliminary probe on the condition of the body which was already in a state of decomposition, and circumstances suggests that the victim might have been assaulted multiple times then dumped on the railway tracks. Investigators further discovered that the body was partially dismantled allegedly by a train. This traumatic incident has prompted Police to institute a murder investigation hence the request for any information that may lead to the arrest of those involved in the killing of the victim. On that note, the Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela saw it fit to caution the community to refrain from resolving disputes through attacking others or even assaulting or killing them. “Instead of taking the law into one’s hands, it is better to involve relevant authorities or opinion leaders,” said the General.
