Media Statement WESTERN CAPE – The swift response by the members attached to Makhaza SAPS reaped positive results as they managed to arrest a 31-year-old suspect in connection with a business robbery. On Tuesday, 19 November 2024 at about 10:15, members from Makhaza SAPS reacted to a business robbery at a premises in Shushu Street, Makhaza. Upon arrival at the identified address they noticed two suspicious looking men who immediately ran away when they saw police members approaching. The members gave chase and managed to catch one of the suspects who later was positively identified by the complainant as one of the suspects in the business robbery. Further information led the members to a premises in Nkonkwa Street where they found and seized a PAK firearm with ammunition, an undisclosed amount of cash and 58 packets of cigarettes abandoned in a yard. The 31-year-old suspect is scheduled to appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrates’ Court once charged.
