Media Statement WESTERN CAPE – The importance of police community relations can never be underestimated as information shared by community members often lead to the arrest of wanted suspects and perpetrators of crime. Makhaza Police Crime Prevention unit were busy with patrols on Tuesday 26 November 2024 when they pursued information about unidentified men who were busy stripping a motor vehicle. The members approached Block 65 where they caught the suspects in the act. The police members apprehended the three males and searched them upon which they confiscated an imitation firearm. Further investigation revealed that the motor vehicle was reported stolen on a Khayelitsha case. The three adult males were detained for the possession of a stolen motor vehicle as well as the possession of an imitation firearm. Once charged the suspects are scheduled to make a court appearance in the Khayelitsha Magistrates’ court on the mentioned charges. Ends
