POLOKWANE – The South African Police Service in Makhado are investigating a case of murder and attempted murder that occurred on Saturday, 30 March 2024 at about 20:20 in Madombidzha Cross Road under Vhembe District. It is alleged that a 50-year-old man was at a local tavern sitting with a 29 year-old man. Suddenly, an unknown male wearing a black trouser with black jacket approached the two took out a firearm and started firing shots at their direction. A 29-year-old male victim managed to run away for his safety and a 50 year-old male (now deceased) was shot point blank by the assailant who fled the scene afterwards. A 50-year-old male was transported to Madombidzha Clinic for medical attention unfortunately he succumbed to injuries on admission at the clinic. The 29 was immediately transported to hospital. A manhunt for the unknown suspect is underway and police request anyone with information that can assist with his apprehension to urgently contact the Investigating Officer Sergeant Silas Baloyi on 061 414 7327 or Crime Stop number 08600 10111 or nearest police station or My SAPS App.
