WESTERN CAPE – Police members attached Maitland Flying Squad were busy with patrols on Friday 27 December in Muizenberg policing precinct when they saw a suspicious motor vehicle. Their suspicion was confirmed when they tested the vehicle which was confirmed by Maitland Radio Control that the vehicle was reported stolen earlier. The police members took action and instructed the driver of the motor vehicle to stop. They searched the occupants and recovered drugs and a revolver hidden inside the motor vehicle which resulted in the detention of the four suspects between the ages of 17 and 36 for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, possession of presumed stolen property and the possession of drugs. Once charged, the suspects are expected to make their court appearance in the Muizenberg Magistrates’ court on the mentioned charges. Ends
