Deputy Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth, and Persons with Disabilities, Mmapaseka Steve Letsike argues that MacG’s comments about Minnie Dlamini are not only disrespectful but also damaging, especially to women.
By making crude assumptions about Dlamini’s personal life and insinuating that her relationship struggles are linked to an alleged hygiene issue, MacG fuels harmful stereotypes and contributes to the shaming of women.
Letsike believes that such remarks are toxic and reinforce negative narratives.
She is calling for Parliament to hold MacG accountable for his words, urging that he explain himself and highlighting the need for greater responsibility in how women are portrayed in the media.
