On 20 April 2024 the accused again went to his ex-girlfriend who was with her current boyfriend, he demanded to see their two-year-old daughter and also threatening to take her away. He then went to Esiqungeni where the child was being looked after by her aunt. He forcefully removed the child from the aunt and strangled her until she died. Siyabonga then informed his ex-girlfriend where she would find the body of their child. A murder docket was registered and the suspect was subsequently arrested. A thorough investigation was conducted by the detectives at Hibberdene Police Station and the matter later indicted to be heard at Pietermaritzburg High Court. Confronted with meticulous investigation and insurmountable evidence Siyabonga opted to plead guilty to all charges against him. On Wednesday, 19 March 2025 the Pietermaritzburg High Court sentenced Siyabonga Ndlovu to 2 years imprisonment for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He was also sentenced to a further 20 years imprison for the murder of his daughter. Ends
