Media Statement POLOKWANE – As the team members of Vala Umgodi operations interchange functions at various districts in the Limpopo Province, the TACJOC Commander Colonel David Malisa and Operations Commander Colonel Choene Magwai, joined by all five Pillar Commanders, has engaged with the new group, on Saturday, 01 March 2025 at Prov-Joc offices in Ladanna, at Polokwane. The objective was outlined as the welcoming gesture to the group and to address the members regarding the mandate and primary functions of the Vala Umgodi operations in the province. The members were guided on the SAPS protocols to be adhered to as they widely deal with illegal mining activities. Different pillars from one to five and VOC Commanders briefed the members on their core functions and sensitised them on crucial issues, which might arise during the operations, as well as the basic principles of the SAPS when attending any issues that need Police attention.
