Media Statement POLOKWANE – The Provincial Commissioner of police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has ordered an urgent manhunt for suspects involved in the gruesome murder of a man following the discovery of the mutilated body along the R37 Road near a fuel Station in Burgersfort policing area on Saturday, 08 June 2024 at about 13:30. According to information received, the Police were alerted about the incident and upon arrival with the Emergency Medical Services personnel, they found a male victim, lying naked on the ground with multiple injuries on the face and lower body with some of his body parts missing. The reports suggest that the deceased was staying with his nephew. Apparently the nephew last saw his uncle on Friday, 07 June 2024 at around 14:00, when he indicated that he was going to visit his girlfriend, unknown to the nephew. He was certified dead on the scene and his identity is withheld pending further Police investigations. The motive behind the incident is currently unknown. The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, strongly condemned the incident. “I have ordered a team of investigators to get to the bottom of this brutal and senseless killing. We will work tirelessly to ensure that perpetrators behind this incident are tracked down and apprehended. We appeal to the community members to come forward with any information that can assist the Police to arrest the suspects involved,” Concluded Lieutenant General Hadebe.
