LIMPOPO – In a bid to enhance service delivery and address resource challenges, the Provincial Commissioner of police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe on Friday, 20 September 2024, met with all units of the Provincial Detectives. The meeting focused on the challenges faced by detectives, particularly with regards to vehicles. This was a follow-up meeting to assess the progress made since the allocation of brand new vehicles to the detective units. During the engagement, the Provincial Commissioner interacted with members and their commanders, listening to their concerns and gaining insight into the difficulties they encounter in the field. After establishing the challenges faced by the members, the Provincial Commissioner allocated an additional vehicle to the Narcotics and Vehicle Inspection Crime Investigation Units. All components brought their vehicles for inspection by the Supply Chain Management. This move demonstrates the Provincial Commissioner’s commitment to supporting detectives in their critical work and ensuring they have the necessary resources to effectively serve the community. By addressing resource challenges, the Provincial Commissioner aims to enhance service delivery and improve overall policing efficiency.
