Media Statement POLOKWANE – The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has praised the community members at Mamotintane village in the Mankweng Policing area, for taking a stand when witnissing crime being committed in their presence. Two suspects, aged 26 and 39, were arrested for business robbery that occurred at a General Dealer in Mamotintane Village, at Mankweng on Wednesday, 24 April 2024 at around 15:30. The Police were summoned to the scene, following an incident, in which two suspects allegedly pointed the complainant, who is businessman, with a firearm and demanded money. They managed to rob him of an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register. Apparently when these suspects were about to flee from the scene, community members noticed the ordeal and blew the whistle. Nearby community members sprang into action and chased the suspects and apprehended them. Police were immediately notified and quickly responded. Two suspects were then arrested on the spot. The Provincial Commissioner of Limpopo, Police Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has welcomed the arrest and praised the community members for their cooperation with the Police and acting responsibly while ensuring that criminals are put behind bars. The suspects will appear before Mankweng Magistrate’s Court soon. Police investigations are continuing. Ends
