Limpopo’s MEC for Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure, Ernest Rachoene, spent the day on the ground in the Mopani District, personally checking progress on key road rehabilitation projects in the Tzaneen Local Municipality.
The monitoring visit focused on several roads covered under the department’s Household Maintenance Programme. One of the standout projects was the Taranteaal Road (D1530), where the full 40-kilometre stretch has now been successfully rehabilitated and completed.
MEC Rachoene expressed real satisfaction with what he saw. “The work we are doing as a department is not just about ticking boxes or being seen on site,” he said. “We make sure the quality delivered is consistently high – that’s the message we keep driving home to our contractors, and today’s visit shows it’s paying off.”
The completed section of the D1530 is already making a noticeable difference for local communities and road users in the area.
The department says ongoing monitoring visits like this one are part of their commitment to delivering lasting, high-quality infrastructure across Limpopo.
