Limpopo Dangerous Weekend: ANCYL President Collen Malatji celebrates wedding surrounded by political leaders
[VENUE] – ANC Youth League (ANCYL) President Collen Malatji and long term partner Thlolo has celebrated their wedding in a ceremony attended by family, friends and several prominent political figures.
The wedding brought together members of the political community and close associates of Malatji, who has emerged as one of the prominent young leaders within the African National Congress Youth League
Malatji, who was re-elected as ANCYL president at the organisation’s 27th national elective conference in Limpopo in December 2025, took a break from his demanding political responsibilities to celebrate the milestone with his bride and their families.
Among those who attended the occasion were ANC members alongside relatives, friends and members of the ANCYL.
The presence of senior political figures highlighted Malatji’s standing within the ANC and its youth wing, where he has served as national president since his election in 2023.
Malatji’s political career began at a young age. He previously served in the Congress of South African Students (COSAS) and later rose through the ranks of the ANC Youth League before being elected to lead the organisation nationally.
His re-election in December 2025 came ahead of the 2026 Local Government Elections, with the ANCYL expected to play a significant role in mobilising young voters and supporting the ANC’s campaign.
The wedding celebrations provided an opportunity for political colleagues and friends to put aside their political responsibilities and join the ANCYL leader and his family on a significant personal occasion.
The couple received messages of congratulations and well wishes from those gathered as they began their married life together.
Malatji’s wedding comes at a politically significant period as political parties across the country prepare for the 2026 Local Government Elections.
