Lights, Camera, and Action! The Race to the 48 Hour Film Project Weekend Begins!
Durban, South Africa – The most anticipated weekend in the filmmaking calendar is upon us! From 27th to 29th September 2024, 130 filmmaking teams will embark on the thrilling challenge of the 48 Hour Film Project. Over just one weekend, these talented filmmakers will race against the clock to write, shoot, and edit short films, pushing their creativity and storytelling abilities to the limit.
Teams from Durban and across the country will participate, with those outside the city shooting in their respective locations. The question on everyone’s mind is: ‘which films will make it to the top 10 and secure their place at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in France next year?’
This high-energy competition has become a global phenomenon, with filmmakers from all walks of life eager to prove their skills. The winning films will not only gain national recognition but could also stand alongside the world’s best at the ‘Cannes Short Film Corner’, offering unmatched exposure on an international stage.
