Real name Nkiyase Mondlana-Mbatha, the musician, actress and entrepreneur Nkiyase released her album in September 2025, with a lead single called, “I Wanna Love You”.
“My music is rooted in African identity, love, and real-life experiences. Over the years I have grown not only as an artist but also as a woman who uses music to inspire, empower, and connect people. For me, music is more than entertainment, it is a way of preserving culture and sharing stories that many people can relate to,” she said.

Nkiyase is also known as the songwriter, and storyteller who has dedicated her life to music and culture.
“Longevity in the music industry comes from passion, discipline, and staying true to who you are. I have always believed that music is a calling, not just a career. Over the years I have continued to learn, adapt, and grow while remaining authentic to my sound and message. The love from supporters and the desire to keep creating meaningful music has kept me going for 25 years,” she said.
Nkiyase said that the reason she is still relevant to this day is because she keeps her connections with my people in the industry.

“I stay connected to people and to the times we live in. I respect my roots, but I am also open to new sounds, new collaborations, and new ideas. I listen, I observe, and I continue evolving as an artist. Most importantly, I focus on creating music that has heart and meaning, because real music never goes out of style,” she said.
She said the I Am One In A Million album was inspired her journey in the music industry.
“The album I Am One In A Million was inspired by my personal journey in the music industry and in life. After 25 years, I felt it was important to reflect on the journey, the lessons, and the uniqueness of every individual.
“The lead single I Wanna Love You speaks about genuine love and emotional connection. In creating the project, I worked with talented producers, musicians, and collaborators who understood the vision and the message behind the music. I always choose people who bring authenticity, creativity, and respect for the craft, because music is a collective effort.
Nkiyase also said that One In A Million is a reminder that every person is unique and has a special purpose. For me, it reflects my journey of perseverance, faith, and believing in my voice even when the path was not always easy.
“It is also a message to others: never doubt your value or your dreams. Each of us is truly one in a million. Every generation brings something valuable. Artists from my generation were deeply rooted in musicality, storytelling, and patience in developing the craft. The current generation brings fresh energy, innovation, and a strong understanding of digital platforms and global trends.
“For me, the beauty is in bridging those worlds, respecting the foundation while embracing the new.”
