Legendary actress Cynthia Shange is no more.
The news about Shange’s passing away were confirmed by her daughter and.TV personality Nonhle Thema through her social media pages.
Thema took to her social media page and posted:

“With a heavy heart, I share the news of our dear mother, please keep my family in your prayers during this difficult time. A graceful and compassionate soul whose presence brought warmth, dignity, and kindness to all who knew her. We honour her journey, her strength, and the love she shared so generously. Funeral details to follow soon.”
Shange who was born in Lamntville in Durban in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), was a pioneering model who also starred in the first Black South African film, Udeliwe (1975), and played roles in the Shaka Zulu series and the npw defunct SABC 2 soapie called Muvhango
Shange made history in 1972 as the first Black woman to represent South Africa at the Miss World pageant.
Due to apartheid laws, she competed under the title “Miss Africa South” after winning the Miss Black South Africa title that same year.
