Media Statement POLOKWANE – The South African Police Service in Lebowakgomo launched a manhunt for three unknown suspects following an armed robbery at Lekurung village, on Monday 15 April 2024 at about 16:00. It is reported that a male victim was traveling in a minibus from Lebowakgomo when he got off at Lekurung village. The victim went to a nearby shop where street vendors were selling and bought a cigarette. When he was about to leave, one unknown accosted him and pointed him with a firearm and threatened to kill him if he screamed for assistance. During the incident, a third suspect came and joined the duo beating him up and threatening him. The victim was robbed of his cap worth R150 and an undisclosed amount of cash. The victim managed to run away to seek assistance and was subsequently taken to the hospital to receive medical attention due to his severe injuries sustained on the upper body during the incident. A manhunt to apprehend the three unknown suspects is underway and anyone with information that can assist is encouraged to contact the Investigating Officer Lieutenant Colonel Mapitsi Sekotlong on 082 565 8234 or Crime Stop number on 08600 10111 or nearest police station or MySAPS App. Police investigations are continuing.
