Proteas wicketkeeper batsman Heinrich Klaasen has quickly become a big name player and will now get his chance in The Hundred.
The big-hitting batsman made headlines last week when he smashed the fourth fastest ODI century for South Africa. It was an innings which not only levelled the series and all but secured a prolonged spell in the national side, but it also proved lucrative.

Klaasen goes big
The innings – an unbeaten 119 off just 61 balls – against the West Indies saw Klaasen picked to play for the Oval Invincibles in the 2023 edition of The Hundred.

Klaasen is one of several men’s players to feature in the 100 ball per side event.
Fellow Proteas player Wayne Parnell was retained by the Northern Superchargers for this season.

Roelof van der Merwe rolled back the clock during the SA20 as he helped the Sunrisers Eastern Cape win the first playing and now the 38-year-old will play for the Welsh Fire. Last season, the spinner played for the Northern Superchargers.
Joburg Super Kings batsman Leus du Plooy will play for the Southern Brave.
