Media Statement KESTELL – An intelligence led operation with the aim to deal with the scourge of drugs in the community, yielded positive results on Friday 12 April 2024 at about 11:30, when Kestell police operationalised information about alleged drug dealing activity at a house in Tlholong. Members proceeded to the identified premises and on arrival a search resulted in the recovery of a black plastic bag containing dagga. A 30-year-old suspect was arrested. While busy at the house, the team received information about a male in possession of drugs. The team started tracing the suspect and found him walking with another male. The two were searched and members found Crystal-meth drugs in their possession. One suspect resisted arrest and assaulted the arresting police official with the help of the other suspect. But officers managed to place them under their control. The two, aged 29 and 30, were arrested and are facing charges of attack to police official, resisting arrest and possession of drugs. The two police officials sustained multiple injuries and were taken to hospital for medical attention. The suspects will appear in the Kestel Magistrate’s Court soon Ends
