US spiritual reader Kandis Starr believes Kelly Khumalo’s music has “cast a spell” on her fans, who have stood by her amid allegations she ordered a hit on boyfriend Senzo Meyiwa a decade ago.
The singer has been accused of being the “mastermind” in an alleged contract killing, as heard in a confession by two men who are facing murder charges relating to the soccer star’s 2014 death.
Over the years, Kelly has released several controversial songs, which social media users believe hints at her involvement in the murder.
The mother-of-three has denied all allegations against her.
KELLY KHUMALO MUSIC ‘CAST A SPELL’ ON FANS
In a spiritual reading over the weekend, Kandis Starr alleged that Kelly Khumalo had ordered a hit on her boyfriend Sezno Meyiwa as part of a “sacrifice” for “fame and fortune.”
The US woman – who has also shared her views about missing Saldanha Bay girl Joslin Smith – believes that Kelly is involved and connected to “dark energy.”
The medium also claimed that the singer’s music had “cast a spell” on fans.
“Her fans have been put under a spell. It’s like she can do no wrong [for them]. She has hypnotised her fans through her music.
She added: “I hope to alert you to snap out of this spell or hypnosis. Nobody should be put under hypnosis without their consent…that’s deceptive”.
CONTROVERSIAL SONGS
Over the years, Kelly Khumalo’s music has made headlines for all the wrong reasons.
According to social media users, Kelly has been accused of using her songs to send cryptic clues about her alleged involvement in the death of her boyfriend, Senzo Meyiwa.
Two months before the death of Senzo in 2014, Kelly released Asine, the lyrics of which describe a woman who is accused of murdering her husband. During the murder trial of her spouse, the woman repeatedly maintains her innocence.
According to reports, just five days before this death, Kelly Khumalo recorded Senzo singing the song in his car.
Fast forward to 2022, and Kelly would release Ngwathwala Ngaye, which translates in English to “I made a sacrifice with him.”
According to social media users, Kelly hinted via the lyrics that she had “sacrificed” Senzo for “fame and fortune.”
GIGS RUN DRY?
According to Zimoja, Kelly Khumalo has allegedly lost money over recent allegations claiming she is the “mastermind” behind Senzo Meyiwa’s death.
A source told the publication: “After the startling revelations were made, they [gigs] shrunk. Promoters don’t want to touch her because, obviously they know what’s going on with the court case. Some of her bookings have been cancelled because of this drama,
Another source added: “I was booked at the same event with her, but I was shocked to find that she wouldn’t be performing anymore because she was cancelled at the eleventh hour.”
Earlier this year, Sunday World reported that two of the accused – Muzi Sibiya and Bongani Ntanzi – made confessions following their 2020 arrests, alleging that Kelly paid them R100 000 to murder Senzo.
In March, the written confessions were ruled admissible in court by Judge Ratha Mokgoatlheng, who claimed that the men confessed “voluntarily, freely and were not coerced.”
According to eNCA, the defence will subpoena Kelly Khumalo to testify in court. The trial will resume in the Pretoria High Court on 13 May.
Meanwhile, Kelly’s representatives told the BBC that her “legal team is actively addressing the situation.”
