Media Statement KIMBERLEY – The Kakamas Police Station Commander, Colonel Dries Witbooi mobilised a special parade this morning to congratulate and encourage his Crime Prevention team, following the successful night shift duties that commenced on Monday, 08 April 2024. The team started the shift by confiscating illicit cigarettes valued at approximately R8.4 million rand and thereafter followed up on information regarding drug dealing in Kakamas. They recovered dagga valued at approximately R8 200,00. The team seized the dagga and charged a 40-year-old male suspect for dealing in drugs. The suspect is expected to appear in the Kakamas Magistrate Court soon. The Provincial Commissioner of the Northern Cape, Lieutenant General Koliswa Otola commended the police units for squeezing the space for drug dealers to operate in our communities. She encouraged the public to rate the police efforts in fighting crime by participating in the “RATE OUR SERVICE” online survey to assist the police in improving services. Ends
