Kaizer Chiefs lost to Stellenbosch FC on Tuesday, thanks to a well-taken goal by Devin Titus. His coach Steve Barker has created a special campaign for Young Player of the Season.
DEVIN TITUS THE BEST YOUNG PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE
The 22-year-old former Hellenic winger marked 10 goals and three assists this week after Stellies beat Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday. According to coach Barker, the South Africa U23 international is the best youngster in Mzansi this season.
“The less said [about Stellenbosch FC form] the better, in my opinion, we do business our way and sometimes being under the radar is not a bad thing,” Barker said via FARPost.
“I just look at a player like Devin Titus for example, I have a fear that if you look at his assists and goal scored, he should win the Young Player of the Season if it was tomorrow by a country mile,” the tactician said after the victory over Kaizer Chiefs.
“Whether it will happen I don’t know, but I do feel it’s those types of instances where maybe not enough has been said about some of the achievements of our players and what were are doing as a team.
“But we are not out there to let people see what we are doing by telling them, we just go by business the way we do. I do believe that we’ll get the credit and reward that we deserve,” Barker concluded.
