EDMILSON DOVE ON NEW TECHNICAL TEAM
Kaizer Chiefs defender Edmilson Dove has confirmed nothing is the same in the Amakhosi training grounds.
As confirmed by the Soweto giants last week, Amakhosi announced a new coach and four assistants to take charge of the first team next season.
- Nasreddine Nabi – Head coach
- Khalil Ben Youssef – First assistant coach
- Fernando Da Cruz – Second assistant coach
- Ilyes Mzoughi – Goalkeeping coach
- Safi Majdi – Strength and conditioning coach and assistant coach.
Speaking to the club’s media this weekend, Dove confirmed that the new coaches are different and challenging.
“We have a new technical team, so we are trying to get the philosophy of what he wants,” the Mozambican said, as cited by FARPost.
“Every coach is different. Different approaches to what they want. It’s up to us as players to assimilate everything they give us and try to make it work on the field. We’re hoping that everyone, as a collective, can get all the things needed for us to be ready at the beginning of the season,” the Kaizer Chiefs defender concluded.
KAIZER CHIEFS STATEMENT ON THE NEW TECHNICAL TEAM
“Kaizer Chiefs are delighted to confirm the much-anticipated appointment of Mohamed Nasreddine Nabi to the position of head coach of the men’s senior team. The two parties have agreed on a two-year contract with an option to extend it by one year.
“After what has been a fairly exhaustive vetting process, it gives us great pleasure to finally welcome our new head coach to Kaizer Chiefs,” says Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr. “We believe we have found the right man to fulfil our vision of restoring Amakhosi to our rightful place at the top of the football pyramid, and we welcome coach Nabi and his technical team with the pledge of unity and support in pursuit of our common goal.”
“The highly-respected Tunisian-born Nabi comes to Amakhosi with a wealth of experience under his belt, having coached top teams in various countries, including Libya, DR Congo, Egypt, Sudan, UAE, Tanzania and, more recently, Morocco. He has won silverware in several countries and participated with distinction in African Club competitions over the years. Among his many accolades, the coach is also a CAF Confederation Cup winner with FC Leopards in Congo.
“The 58-year-old, who holds a UEFA Pro coaching licence, brings with him a new technical support team, comprised of expert professionals who have worked with top-flight outfits in Africa and other continents.”
